Stable Isotope Analyzers
Determination of the isotopic ratio between stable isotopes requires a specific mass spectrometry technique. In particular, they are suitable for the analysis of the relative isotopic abundance between stable isotopes of elements such as Carbon, Nitrogen, Sulfur, Hydrogen and Oxygen.
The so-called IRMS (Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer) systems consist of a magnetic sector mass detector, common to all possible configurations, and one or more peripherals depending on the applications and the type of matrices to be analyzed.

ISO70 is the system consisting of our 8070 Air CO2 analyzer and the IRMS detector: a unique system capable of determining the isotopic ratio of carbon in atmospheric air. The uniqueness of the system consists in the ability of the 8070 to sample a good amount of air and therefore of CO2, making the analysis of the isotopic ratio easy.
