Karl-Fischer Titrators

Aquamax KF Plus

Water determination according to standards of ASTM, API, BS, DIN, EI/IP, EN, IEC, ISO, Ph. Eur.

Aquamax KF Plus titrators have been specifically designed for the determination of water content, combining coulometry with the Karl Fischer method. 

Aquamax KF PRO LPG

The Aquamax KF PRO LPG fulfils the requirements of the standard ASTM D 7995 – 19: Standard Test Method for Total Water in Liquid Butane by Liquefied Gas Sampler and Coulometric Karl Fischer Titration.

The Aquamax KF PRO LPG is designed for an easy and accurate determination of water in liquefied and gaseous samples such as LPG and LNG. 

Aquamax KF PRO OIL

The Aquamax KF PRO Oil fulfils the requirements of the standard ASTM D 6304: Standard Test Method for Determination of Water in Petroleum Products, Lubricating Oils and Additives by Coulometric Karl Fischer Titration.

The Aquamax KF PRO Oil is the perfect instrument to measure ppm water in oils and fuels without the worry of interference side reactions caused by additives or sulphur/mercaptans. 

Aquamax KF PRO Oil Automatic

Available as an automatic version with sampler for oils, the Aquamax KF PRO Oil’s integrated scale determines exactly the sample amount. This makes it easy to handle large quantities of samples:

The sampler has space for 200 sample syringes in five magazines. 

Aquamax KF Online

The gas extraction is the ideal method to detect moisture in oil samples and viscous substances. The Aquamax KF Online is suitable for continuous analysis of water in oil samples.

Trace amounts of water can be measured with the special heating chamber for oils. The sample has no contact with the reagent. Therefore the consumption of reagent is low and the detection sensitivity is high.

AQUA 40.00 Basic Module

The AQUA 40.00 (Basic Module) determines the water content of liquid samples and gases quickly and precisely. Based on coulometric Karl Fischer titration, the instrument requires little space due to its compact design.

The sample is simply dispensed through a septum directly into the measuring cell. The cell is optimally designed and exhibits extremely low background drift. The titrator is thus particularly suitable for water determination in the trace range.

AQUA 40.00 High Temperature Oven

The High temperature oven HT 1300 is an extension module with high performance for the Karl Fischer titrator AQUA 40.00 for extracting the water from samples which release the water at higher temperatures (300 to 1300 °C). 

Samples are put into small sample boats into the hot area of the oven. A special valve system transports the sample into the oven without interrupting the carrier gas flow.

Water determination by headspace technique

The AQUA 40.00 Vario combines the Karl Fischer Titration with the headspace technique offering a wide range of interesting applications to determine moisture in solid and pasty samples, oils and viscous compounds.

The sample preparation takes place using the dynamic headspace technique. The sample – in a closed vial – is placed into the headspace oven and tempered.

Volumetric Titrators

Titramax VT ACID/BASE

The Titramax VT ACID/BASE is suitable for determination of acids and bases, buffer capacities, carbonates, bicarbonates and other ions in water samples.

Among other things, the titrator fulfils the requirements of the standards ASTM D 1067, ASTM D 1121, DIN 38409-7, DIN EN ISO 787-4, DIN ISO 125, ISO 10539.

Titramax VT BROMINE

The value of Bromine Index or Bromine Number expresses the trace amount of unsaturated constituents of hydrocarbons and oils. Determined by measurment of consumed bromine for cleavage of double or multiple bounds during the titration. The values are needed to determine parameters for further processing of petroleum products.

The Titramax VT BROMINE is conform to standards ASTM D 1159, ASTM D 2710 and ASTM D 5776.

Titramax VT CHLORIDE

The Titramax VT CHLORIDE can be used to determine the chloride concentration in water samples and water-soluble components from solids and organic mixtures. The method is suitable for contents from 0.001 % to 100 %. In foodstuffs the contents are very high, in natural waters or petroleum very low.

The titrator meets ASTM C 1218, D 4458-15, D 4929-22, D 6470-99; DIN EN 196-2; ISO 5810, 5943, 6227, 9197-1; UOP 456-80 requirements.

Titratmax VT SULPHUR

The Titramax VT SULPHUR is designed for the determination of sulphur compounds as hydrogen sulphide and mercaptan sulphur in liquid hydrocarbons and oils.

The measurement uses a volumetric titration method with silver nitrate solution in an anhydrous medium. This measurement generates silver sulphide (Ag2S) and silver mercaptides.

The device conforms to standards ASTM D 3227, ISO 3012, UOP 163, UOP 212.

Titramax VT TAN/TBN

The TAN/TBN Titrator is suitable for determination of Total Acid Number (TAN) or Total Base Number (TBN) of oils and fats. The acid number expresses the quantity of base required to neutralize all acidic constituents of the sample. It is a quality feature for freshness of oils and fats. The base number indicates the quantity of acid which can be neutralized by additives in mineral oils.

The instrument conforms to standards ASTM D 664, DIN 51558, IEC 62021-1, Pharmacopoeia (TAN) and ASTM D 2896, ASTM D 4739, ISO 3771, UOP 269 (TBN).

Titramax VT WATER

With the Titramax VT WATER you can determine the water content of liquids very easily. The device is based on volumetric titration according to the Karl Fischer method. The titrator works fast and precise for a wide range of use.

The device is conform to standards ASTM D 4377, ASTM D 6869, ASTM E 203, DIN 51777, IP 356, IP 471, ISO 10336, ISO 6296, Pharmacopoeia.

Sulfide Analysers

Sulfimax GX lab

The Sulfimax GX Lab provides precise, standard-compliant determination of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) and volatile sulphides in liquids and gases, without the need for sample pre-treatment. Samples are introduced manually or via autosampler, and efficient gas extraction ensures complete H₂S release with minimal interference. The sensitive sensor detects concentrations from 0.01 to 10,000 ppm within approximately five minutes. With the optional Headspace Module, solid and pasty samples can also be analysed.

Sulfimax GX go

The Sulfimax GX Go is a compact, portable version of the Sulfimax GX series, ideal for on-site measurement of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) and volatile sulphides in liquids and gases. Samples are introduced directly by syringe without pre-treatment, and efficient gas extraction ensures complete H₂S release. With detection from 0.01 to 10,000 ppm in about five minutes, the optional Headspace Module also enables analysis of solid and pasty samples.

Headspace Module for Sulfimax GX

The Headspace Module extends the Sulfimax GX system for easy determination of volatile hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) in solid and pasty samples. Samples are placed in glass vials and heated between 30 °C and 180 °C, releasing H₂S into the gas circuit for precise detection. No sample preparation is required, and fast measurement times enable high throughput in a compact, user-friendly design.

Sulfiamx GX online GAS

The Sulfimax GX Online GAS enables continuous, precise measurement of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) in gas mixtures across a wide range—from 0.1 to 20,000 ppm—using an integrated dilution stage. Equipped with a selective amperometric sensor, diaphragm pumps, and an onboard PC, it provides real-time data recording, trending, and alarms. Automatic purging ensures stable, drift-free operation even in oxygen-free gases like biogas, extending sensor life and enabling reliable process control.

Sulfimax GX online WATER

The Sulfimax GX Online WATER enables continuous, precise measurement of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) and sulphides in wastewater and other aqueous samples. Its efficient gas extraction system ensures complete H₂S removal with minimal matrix interference, achieving reliable detection from 0.01 to 1000 ppm in just 5–15 minutes. Designed for industrial applications, it delivers accurate results even in challenging samples containing hydrocarbons or ammonia. Fully automated operation, remote configuration, and digital or analog outputs support seamless integration into process and wastewater monitoring systems.

Sulfimax GX Vario

Using efficient gas extraction and a highly sensitive sensor, it detects H₂S concentrations from 0.01 to 10,000 ppm within 5–30 minutes.
